In Norway teachers don’t have the rights to send pupils out of the classroom, if they do they might loose their job or get sued by angry parents. The only person who can send a kid out of the classroom is the head of the school – how backwards is that? Teachers have no power left to take action when difficult students ruin the class.
But now our educational minister want to change that law, finally.
I think parts of the problem is parents, everyone think that their kid is an angel and if their angel is being sent out of the classroom hell is loose and the parents threatens to sue the school or the teacher. And parents rely too much on the school to not only educate the kids but raise them as well – it has to go wrong eventually.
I guess people realize how severe the problem is now, problemstudents are ruiening a lot of classes but the teachers can’t do anything. Teachers need tools to use as sanctions.
