Our sun is heading towards a large peak in 2013, a century cycle of the perfect storm. Researchers warn us that we might loose power and communication and the black out will last for months.
If this really is the situation its a great opportunity to go green. Not to be hysteric about it but I don’t think it will hurt if every family considered alternative power sources. I dream of solar panel for lighting and gas for heat and kitchen. I think it would be fun to try this and if 2013 will be the year we loose power I’d like to be ready for it. Not only because of the warning but I think it would be an environmentally good solution.
Power is becoming more and more expensive I think and it would be fun to “lure” the billionaires and make them almost obsolete. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
Gas kitchen and ovens are already a great alternative, its not that expensive. Whats tricky is the solar cells, its a bit expensive and it needs a good infrastructure to be useful.
With new technology it is possible to take usage of 60 to 80 percent of the sunlight, but the technology isn’t ready yet for us to buy.
How much watt do we need? Would 200 watt do it?
The big question is will the charged batteries be protected by a large solar storm?
