Its been a great winter though, the first winter in many years that haven’t been rain-snow-rain-snow-rain-snow every second day.

I was listening to the Norwegian radiostation P3 the other day and there was an interview with Ingrid Olava, a great singer who grew up in Lillehammer, Norway. She was asked to sing her version of «Her kommer vintern» (Here comes the winter) live, one of my favorite songs written by Joachim Nielsen in Jokke og Valentinerne. He died in 1997 of an overdose. My first thought were «good luck on going for such a great tune» and I hoped she didn’t ruin it, know the feeling?
She sat down at the piano and played this live, for me the song got a new life, I love this version. Here it is but it is in Norwegian. Do you still like it? I found a nice translation of the lyrics.

Jeg hørte på P3 her om dagen, et intervju med Ingrid Olava hvor hun ble spurt om å spille «Her kommer vintern» av Joachim Nielsen i Jokke og Valentinerne. «Lykke til» tenkte jeg og håpet på at hun ikke ødela sangen totalt. Men det gjorde hun ikke, versjonen hennes er nydelig. Jeg prøvde noen dager å finne den på nettet og så plutselig dukket den opp på YouTube. Må bare dele den her i tilfelle du gikk glipp av den.
Someone must have heard me when I wished for tons of snow and chaos. I am stuck at work, hehe but I’d rather be stuck at home. Large trucks are blocking many roads and a truck full of dynamite just tipped over. People outside the building are not getting everywhere, its kind of comic.
I could try with my car but I don’t trust my tires, its on last season and I don’t want to take any chances, enough people does that today. (here are som images (page in norwegian though))
Heres a car outside our office building that can’t get up. I could have gone out to help himp push but I don’t want to be responsible for letting him out on the road. If he can’t get up that litle hill he shouldn’t be driving today. (sorry about the quality, I had to rotate the video before I uploaded it)
btw I love that its so easy to share videos like this. I recorded it on my cellphone and uploaded it to You Tube, then I just pasted the link to it (because I have this plugin thingy (read more about it on my sandbox)). Its awesome. Poor Bell who had to call himself when he invented the phone, I wish he could see what we can do now.
Edit : Finally home, it took a few hours. It was weird to see all the cars parked around in all kind of places.
Noen må ha hørt meg når jeg ønsket meg tonnevis med snø og kaos. Jeg er værfast på jobben, hehe men jeg skulle ønske jeg heller var værfast hjemme. Store lastebiler blokkerer veier og en lastebil med dynamitt har kjørt i grøften. Folk utenfor bygget her stresser med å komme seg opp en liten bakke, morsomt å følge med.
Jeg kunne ha prøvd med bilen min men jeg stoler ikke helt på dekkene, de er på sin siste sesong for å si det slik – har ikke lyst til å ta noen sjanser. Det er nok av folk som gjør det i dag. ( her er noen bilder )
Her er en bil utenfor som ikke kan komme seg opp den lille bakken utenfor kontoret, jeg kunne ha gått ut for å hjelpe men jeg har ikke lyst til å være ansvarlig for at denne bilen kom seg på veien, han burde ikke kjøre når han ikke en gang kommer seg opp denne lille bakken. (beklager den dårlige kvaliteten, jeg måtte rotere videoen før jeg lastet den opp til You Tube)
Jeg digger forresten hvor lett det er å dele videoer på denne måten. Jeg spilte den inn på mobilen min og lastet den opp på You Tube. Deretter limte jeg inn linken i posten her, siden jeg har en embed plugin slapp jeg å lime inn ekkel kode. Stakkars Bell som måtte ringe seg selv når han testet ut telefonen, skulle ønske han kunne se hva vi kan gjøre nå.
Edit : endelig hjemme, det tok noen timer. Det verste føre jeg noen gang har kjørt på. Skulle ønske jeg hadde fjernstyrte dekk hvor jeg kunne få ut pigger ved å trykke på en knapp.
