That day we were checking the security on the Pasvik river (between Norway and Russia) and how the ice held. Since I were the lightest one that day I had to go first on the worst areas..

Denne dagen skulle vi sjekke sikkerheten på Pasvikelva og hvordan isen var, den var i ferd med å smelte men folk gikk der fremdeles. Siden jeg var den letteste den dagen måtte jeg gå først på de verste områdene..

Am I the only one who think media finds the stranges photos of people when they are trying to ridicule them? If I’m right I think this is sad, but then again.. a bit funny. Like this one. John Fredriksen was Norway’s richest man until he chose to abandon his Norwegian citizenship and take up a Cypriot passport. (Wiki) Hes one of the many who made a fortune during the Iran-Iraq wars in the 1980s, the Wiki is worth a read.

Faksimile fra VG.Fredriksen har fått nok av Norge, men nå erter han på seg kremen i Norge – og media henger seg på. På bildet over slår teorien min til igjen, aviser finner de mest tullete bilder når de skriver med en litt humoristisk baktone. Slik som vi gjorde på barneskolen når vi skulle tegne en kamerat eller en lærer, litt ekstra store ører eller et tullete smil. VG fant frem det mest tullete bilde av Fredriksen. Mye tull for tiden, Wilhelmsen mener at Fredriksen er tullete. Jeg tipper Giske koste seg da han fikk lov til å presentere sin avhandling i saken: «jeg blir syk av hjemlengsel når jeg ikke er i Norge» sier han. 🙂
TV2 har skrevet i litt mer alvorlig form og har funnet et alvorlig bilde – John Fredriksen er unasjonalistisk sier lederen for Norsk Sjøoffiserforbund til TV2.
Jeg lurer på hva Fredriksen mener om de forskjellige måtene han blir fremstilt på, jeg hadde i hvertfall blitt litt irritert. Er det bare meg som tror at media finner frem de skrekkelige bildene av personer for å latterliggjøre dem?
Wiki om Fredriksen er verd en titt på, men den engelske er bedre skrevet, hmmm. 🙂

Cycling the The Navvies Road|Sykkeltur på Rallarvegen med idrettsskolen

It was time for a trip with the sports school this weekend and this time we were cycling the Navvies Road (Rallarvegen) from Finse to Flåm. 1222 meters over the ocean to 2 meters, quite a drop! Rallarvegen is the old construction road navvies used while building our railway in the 19th and early 20th centuries. We were 36 adults and children this time and decided to rent bikes instead of bringing our own. I think that is wise, when we rent them we know we are secured with good breaks and tires. It was an awesome trip, 53 wonderful kilometers! Though it is mostly down hill my body still aches, its a bumpy ride and in some areas you have to be really careful and concentrated, some places there are no fences and the view down is breathtaking.
This one kind of reminded me from a scene in Half Life 2 🙂

Det var en helt fantastisk tur, ungdommen var utrolig flink – vi var 36 barn og voksne, alle kom i mål i Flåm med stil. Værgudene var med oss også, turen hadde nok ikke vært helt den samme om regnet pøset ned. Vi tok toget til Finse og hentet sykler vi hadde leid, så begynte turen. 53 nydelige kilometer ned til Flåm.Selv om det stort sett bare er nedover bakke så kjenner jeg det godt i kroppen, tror ikke jeg hadde overlevd uten sykkelbukse. 🙂 Neste gang skal jeg ha skikkelige hansker på, det ble mye bremsing nedover, prøvde mest mulig å bruke pedalbremsen men da ble det litt skrensing i de tøffeste svingene. Håper det ikke blir lenge til jeg kan prøve Rallarvegen igjen, det var en drømmetur.
Dette minne meg litt om Half Life 2 🙂

But I managed to crash my database, I rendered it completely useless. A while ago my photoblog crashed and then I decided to schedule the backup in cron, I took a full backup then I monitored the backup-size and saw it grow so I thought it was fine. But it wasn’t. It was generating rubbish and I lost everything. Luckily I managed to de-rubbish some of the data.
Remember backup my friends! 🙂 Now I’ve managed to reconstruct the latest posts but they are empty, I am searching for buffered and cached data on my server and on search engines…

Det skulle jeg aldri ha gjort… Jeg krasjet databasen noe så grundig at jeg måtte ta frem backupfilene. Men der var det bare rubbish og rot så jeg trodde jeg hadde mistet alt. Heldigvis klarte jeg å grave frem en del fra minne og cache samt en eldre manuell backup. Den tids-instilte backupen feilet…
Nå har jeg klart å rekonstruere de siste innleggene mine men de er tomme så nå er jeg på jakt i cache og på søkemotorer. Kjedelig jobb…

We sat down at the Sailor’s monument eating buns and drinking coffee.

A young lady in a bachelor party, she had to paddle a few rounds around the monument. 🙂
