I was certain it would be, because I don’t think it will be a competitor to the iPhone’s Safari browser. Why? Because webpages are rendered on Opera’s servers and therefore the javascript and ajax functionality won’t be as good as Safari’s. I wish it could be possible to turn off this function, I don’t like that my webtraffic is going through a 3rd party.

    I also dislike the zoom function and how it behaves when I tilt my phone to landscape, it doesn’t re-render the page. Oh well, it is exciting but I think they have to do a little more effort to be acknowledged by the iPhone-people. Heres how it looks:

    On html5test.com Opera received a score of 14 of 160 possible:

Det er et stort steg for nordmennene bak Opera. Eller er det det? Jeg tror det er noen skumle grunner til at den ble godkjent. Min teori er at Apple ikke ser på den som en verdig konkurrent, ikke støtter den full funksjonalitet rundt javascript, ajax, trafikken går via tredjepart servere (hva med sikkerhet?) og zoom funksjonen var helt på bærtur. Jeg må innrømme at jeg er veldig skuffet. Jaja.. Apple hadde ikke godkjent Opera om den ikke tvang oss til å bruke Operas mini-servere for å lese websider. Det er ivertfall greit med et alternativ til Safari.

    Slik ser bloggen min ut, den blir ikke helt den samme uten javascript.

    Opera fikk en score på 14 av 160 på html5test.com:

    Webtjenester rundtom i verden detekterer heller ikke Opera som en mobil-leser, derfor vil du ikke få tilbud om å få mobil-versjonen. Feks BT som har en bra løsning. Men det kommer vel etterhvert som folk legger Opera 5 mini for iPhone inn i sitt oppsett. Om du lurer på om den har Flash så er svaret selvfølgelig nei. 🙂

    Om Opera ikke virker første gangen du installerer den så må du slå av wifi og prøve igjen. Deretter slå på wifi igjen.

    Opera er i vinden for tiden, i går skrev VG om hvor godt Opera nyter av Microsofts påtvungne webleser valg. I første omgang får Opera god kritikk fra Macworld.se.

Most people don’t mind that they can run better software on the hardware, like Opera for instance, they just love Apple products. The iPad is warmly written about in Norway and people order American versions with no support for Norwegian letters, video rental or access to full Apple store – but they don’t care. Why is it like that?

    Apple create neat stuff, its as simple as that. Even the strongest Apple-hater loves the iPhone and iPad but they won’t admit it. Its like the vegetarians who sneak to McDonald’s for a snack.

    And because people who love Apple create fun accessories, like this one for instance:

Selv de tøffeste Apple-motstanderne blir frelst av iPhone eller iPad – de bryr seg til slutt ikke om ulempene med produktene. Selv var jeg veldig skeptisk til iPhone men nå elsker jeg den – det eneste jeg savner er en skikkelig browser, som Opera Mini – håper det blir mulig å installere den snart. Jeg er motstander av Flash så at det ikke støttes på iPhone og iPad synes jeg bare er bra. Apple er med å gi verden et spark bak, vi må komme oss videre og inn i html5-verdenen. NRK skuffer meg litt der, de har vært så frempå i det siste med bra teknologi men nå er vi tilbake igjen til MS Internet Explorer-verdenen.

    Jeg tror at en annen faktor til at Apple-produktene blir så populær er at det lages så mye gøy til den, både flotte apps, spill og så…. denne! (Som jeg nå har fått vite var en 1. april spøk. Snakk om å dumme seg ut.. jaja, sånn kan det gå. 🙂

    Jeg så den på ThinkGeek, er det rart iPad blir populær? 🙂 Vi menn bil har forresten skrevet en bra artikkel om gode apps for bil. Og her er en ungdom som har lastet opp tegneseriene sine til iPaden, slik ser det ut: skjermbilde.

    VG har trillet terning og den landet på 5, eller fjusket de? Jeg benytter sjansen til å si at tilogmed «faren» til trillingkast i anmeldelser sier at det var det dummeste han hadde funnet på.

    TV2 gir den også god omtale, men de nevner ulempene med mangel på tilkoblingsmuligheter og kamera. Takk TV2 for at dere bruker journalistiske evner istedet for å bare trille en terning.

    Ja, jeg er en av dem som holder pusten og venter på Apples OS 4.0, Macworld har skrevet litt om hva de håper på av endringer.

Den neste maskinen vi kjøper inn til huset kommer til å være en iPad. Apple er utrolig flinke.

    I dag startet salget av iPad, jeg må innrømme at jeg er litt misunnelig. Apple-motstanderne kan si hva de vil men Apple forblir genial. TV2 skriver også om folk som står i kø for å kjøpe iPad.

Most mobile applications use services on Internet and Internet as a transportation for traffic between the application and the server. How can «mobile applications» then be bigger than Internet? Or did I miss something?

    They are talking about how popular Apple’s App Store is, having 65000 applications and people have downloaded 1,5 billion apps. Is that why they call it bigger? To use their own way of saying this, I think The Internet has more than 65000 apps. 🙂

Hvordan kan man da si at mobile applikasjoner vil bli større enn Internet? Det finnes jo ikke GSM-servere som tilbyr samme tjenester, eller har jeg misforstått artikkelen jeg leste i VG i dag? (Se link under) Om man stenger ned Internet, hva skjer da med de mobile applikasjonene? 🙂 Jeg tror ikke man får sjekket så mange bussruter.

    At Apples App Store har 65000 apps er vel ikke så veldig imponernde, for å bruke samme språk som VG; Internet har litt flere enn 65000 programmer man kan laste ned. 🙂

    Jeg måtte humre litt da jeg så den nye isen til Henning Olsen, først trodde jeg det var en spøk men det er ennå lenge til 1. April. Hvor lenge vil det ta før Apple tar kontakt? Jeg tipper de ringer ganske snart.

    Jeg forventet meg egentlig å se Drilloisen tilbake i den nye brosjyren men denne var jo veldig morsom, kommer sikkert til å bli en hit.
