    Tonight we celebrated the first Sunday in advent in ‘Old Bergen’. The mayor lead the annual torch parade which ended up at the old square where the christmas tree stands, ready to be lighted.

    A lot of people participated this year, they even didn’t have enough torches. We were a bit late so we didn’t get one, but I think that is better than when they have lots of torches left because people aren’t showing up. We had a great time and the athmosphere were awesome.

    Earlier we visited the old mill, a few artist workshops and the old jeweller, Santa in the old barn and we had a cup of coffee and some cake at the old restaurant. If you come to Bergen once I recommend visiting Old Bergen.

    It is an open air museum with more than 40 wooden houses, representative of the Bergen architecture in the 18th and 19th centuries. The houses have interiors from the 18th, 19th and the 20th centuries, and give picture of life in a small town with its dwellings, different shops, baker, barber, dentist, photographer etc. The museum area is open all year.

    I kveld besøkte vi Gamle Bergen for å feire første søndag i advent. Borgermesteren ledet an fakkeltoget og vi gikk i lang rekke opp til torget hvor juletreet står. På 1, 2, 3 ropte alle – både voksne og barn ‘Tenn Lys’! Det var en herlig stemning der og vi koste oss masse.

    Tidligere besøkte vi den gamle møllen, noen kunstner-workshops, sølvsmeden og nissen på loven. Vi var også innom restauranten og slappet av med kaffe og kake. En slik ettermiddag anbefales på det varmeste, kjempemorro for barna – juleverksted, pepperkakebaking og mye annet. Det som var litt morsomt var at julenissen delte ut tran til barna, det var en ny vri.

    Before going to a birthday party today we spent some time on Monsamarken (Mons’ field) having fun on sleds. Our litle one enjoyed sitting on them sliding down the hills, she smiled wide all the way – it was her first time on sleds. I love to watch kids play in snow, its like they blossom in a special way. Its energygiving to watch.

    The Monsamarken is an endangered spot, like many green spots in Norway. We try to use it as much as we can, it might be built on one day. There is an ongoing project but luckily lots of local people resist. Its kind of our last spot where we can use sleds near us.

    Since the 1600s the field were owned by farmers, the spot originally belonged to a large farm Eid, later it were sold in pieces and we now how stories go then. I’ll try to get a wide picture of it one day.

    Før vi gikk i familiebesøk i dag trasket vi bort til Monsamarken for å ake litt, minstemann koste seg veldig – hennes første aketur. Hun var herlig der hun satt og gliste.

    Vi prøver å besøke Monsamarken så ofte vi kan, siden det er mange som vil bygge på den. Det er vel den siste grønne flekken igjen på Tertnes tenker jeg. Jeg håper de aldri kommer til å bygge den ut, det er den siste flekken fra den store gården Eid på 1600-tallet.

    Today we finally went back to the 4-H farm Soltun at Garnes near us, its been too long since last time. The kids had a great time, riding horses, visiting the two pigs Stapmett (Full) and Monica, the cows and calfs, rabbits and sheeps. We learned today that Monica is a he, that was awesome. =)

    After hitchhiking with the horse wagon we ended our visit in the turf hut where we grilled sausages and marshmallows over open fire. I’ll take some more photos next time, I forgot I had it with me most of the time.

    Det var godt å være tilbake på 4-H gården Soltun på Garnes, alt for lenge siden sist. Ungene koste seg – lekte, besøkte de nye kalvene i fjøset og deres mødre, hilste på grisene Stappmett og Monica, høner, sauer og kaninene. Også obligatoriske ting som tur på hesteryggen og kjerretur.

    Til slutt avsluttet vi besøket med grilling av pølser og marshmallows i gammen. En herlig dag. Minsten koste seg veldig, det var hennes første besøk. Jeg tror favorittene hennes er kaninene og grilling i gammen. =)

Is it a remote camera watching? I didn’t dare to ask.

    Vi utforsket butikker i et område vi ikke hadde besøkt på år og dag, plutselig sto R2D2 utenfor en klesbutikk. Er den et remote kamera mon tro? Jeg turde ikke å spørre.

    Sjekk ut karen her, ikke helt edru og har sikkert ikke fått tak i taxi. Det er utrolig at bileieren ikke enser hva som skjer. En forbipasserende legger merke til sjanglingen men.. han klarer å stikke av med bilen!

    We were in the city centre today and parked on the top floor of a parking house. The view from there is awesome, we can se all the roofs of The Warf/Bryggen which is famous for Bergen. Its fun to get the chance to watch it from that angle.

    There is a storm forcast today, as you can check here, and all the small fishing boats come to the safe haven, the whole port is filled with them. Them storm hasn’t built up yet, but I notice its blowing 35 miles pr hour right now at the oil platform west of us. Right here its only 23 mph now, for now.[/lang_en]

    Vi var i sentrum en tur i dag og parkerte på øverste trinn i parkeringshuset ved Rosenkrantz. Utsikten der er morsom, man kan se takene på mesteparten av Bryggen. Artig å se den fra en slik vinkel.

    Det er meldt storm i dag, og alle de små fiskebåtene har kommet inn i stille farvann. Hele havnen er fyllt opp av dem. Vi merker ikke så mye til stormen her ennå, men ser at det bygger seg opp. På Flesland er det ca 61 Km/t i vindkastene men et gjennomsnitt på 35. På Ekofisk ser jeg at det er oppe i 87 km/t, det er vel ganske heftig.. Og det kommer mot oss.[/lang_nb-no]
