I decided to use the opportunity to make a little card to you all, from Øblog. If you click the image to the left you’re lead to a lot of nice Christmas cards.

    The snow men were made by school children from all over the Berlin district, I took this earlier this year – there were hundreds of awesome snowmen.

    Snømennene var laget av skolebarn fra forskjellige områder i Berlin. Det var en stor opplevelse å gå blandt dem.

The «candle» were lit to song and some preaching, we didn’t see much so we moved on to say hello to workers in Santa-forest (seasonable name). This has been done for 10 years now. I read now that it was our bishop preaching, I didn’t notice that. 🙂

    We managed to fit 6 rollers in the roller-section of the funicular, that was impressive. Next weekend we’re going up instead though, its a lot of hassle to take the funicular with roller.

    Visiting Santa and his wife, our little one loved it – they have a cozy cabin.

    After taking the funicular down we went to our favorite restaurant in the city center, I always end up taking photos in there, so many fun stuff to look at.

Lyset ble tent til allsang og litt preken, vi så ikke så godt så vi gikk videre mot nisseskogen. Det er litt styr med barnevogn på Fløibanen så neste helg har vi bestemt oss for å gå istedet.

    Her er nissemor og nissefar sammen med 500 år gamle Ulv, en utrolig herlig gjeng – de hadde laget det veldig koselig oppe i nissehytten. Her fikk barna fylle ut ønskelister og snakke litt med nissefamilien – vi tok også en liten nissesang der vi satt.

    Da vi kom ned gikk vi på favorittrestauranten vår, der ender jeg alltid opp med å ta bilder, de har så mye artige motiver. Men først og fremst er maten helt konge.

    In 1955 a store in Colerado made a litle mistake. On a poster they encouraged kids to call Santa to ask him questions but they had printed the wrong number. When kids called, the phone to Director of Operations at the Continental Air Defense (CONAD) rang. Colonel Harry Shoup received the first phonecalls and didn’t want to break the kids’ heart and continued to answer. Every kid who asked got Santa’s current position.

    Three years later, the governments of the United States and Canada combined their national domestic air defenses into the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), but the tradition continued. Now major media outlets as well as children call in to inquire on Santa’s location.

    In 2004, NORAD received more than 35,000 e-mails, 55,000 calls and 912 million hits on the Santa-tracking website from 181 countries.

    I just came home after driving around delivering christmas presents to our family and extended families. I wanted to share what weather I had while driving. Not Christmas yet so I don’t give up hope for å white christmas.

    It could be worse though, like this.

    Jeg kjørte rundt med julepresanger i dag og fikk lyst til å dele hvilket vær jeg hadde på turen. Ikke noe særlig julestemning her nei. Men jeg gir ikke opp håpet om en hvit jul.

    treeI read an article today that Norwegian kids get an average of 10 kilo toys on Christmas. Each year we import 20 kilo toys per kid, 10 kilos are bought through the year. These are figures that the organization Future in our hands have gathered.

    What signals do we send our kids by doing this, it is a great pleasure to see a kid unwrap a present but… When you see them sweathing and unwraps one by one like they were in a factory I begin to wonder. Do we hurt our kids by overdoing the pleasure of giving them gifts?

    In the end I think we do, I think they won’t be able to appriciate being given to anymore and that is something we shouldn’t mess with. Not only that, we sponsor the pollution of our planet by importing goods from all over the planet using non environmental friendly transport. We mess with their personality and we pollute their future. Merry Christmas!
