To be honest to you, I am flattered when people comment my posts. That way I know that I am not only posting for myself – someone reads my stuff and comments widen my horizon. I love comments.
Before Akismet, Defensio and other antispam systems Google had to implement the nofollow tag, it was just silly for them to index all the junk, but among them was the real comments, kind of victims of spam.
Now that we don’t let spam out, I wonder if its time to let the comments get rewarded again, kind of saying thank you for commenting me. If I remove the nofollow tag your site will be linked from my blog and search engines will embed that link in the system, like any other link.
The Do Follow “riot” is appearing on more and more sites, you can even submit your blog if you remove the nofollow tags. Check out Blogs that follow, Do Follow List, Do Follow Directory etc.
If you answer no, please leave a comment why ok?
One thing I am specially curious about is how people are going to react to this. Are people going to comment just to get linked? I “think green” and hope that people will continue as before and just be intrigued by the new bonus.
BTW there are a few great plugins for WordPress to remove the nofollow tags, like Do Follow 4.0 by Kimmo Suominen and Semiologic’s Dofollow.

Sjekk ut feks : Blogs that follow, Do Follow List, Do Follow Directory etc.

Looks like everyone who has voted wants you to implement Do Follow…
Hi Angelika yeah.. Maybe it was a silly question from me..
I guess people who vote “yes” usually don’t comment….dooh 😉
I just wish I would know how to remove “nofollow” in my blog, in case it is there……so much to learn 😉
I love that poll – great!
Oh, I see the flags for the first time – cool :D!!
I voted yes (well, my blog is DoFollow) but I really think it’s up to you. Do YOU want to implement DoFollow? 🙂
Hey thats great you have made it a do follow blog 🙂
But my question is always do u get quality comments ??
By this, will your pagerank increase ??? And if i comment these types of blog, then will my blog pagerank ang technorati rank will increase ??
Hope you will answer my question . Because I’m thinking to turn my blog into a do-follow blog .
Hi Murad! Nice of you to drop by! After I announced this I get a lot of weird comments from many Commercial websites, it is a lot of work to moderate it.
But then again, I also get real good comments as well, after I activated this I get more comments totally so I don’t regret.
Now that you have commented here and I have removed the rel=nofollow, the search engines will index your blog like any link from my blog. If I had higher pagerank than you it would improve yours if many higher ranked blogs/sites linked to you. I don’t think that my link to you only will help.
And hopefully you will get visitors from your comment? I have small flags on the commenters which shows where they come from and I think people will be curious about yours. hihi
This will not have any effect on your technocrati rank, but since you mention it I will go and add your blog as a favourite. It will effect you btw if people follow your comment and do the same as me.
I hope you have a nice day Murad!
I recently started a personal blog (been blogging for a professional blog for a couple years now), and I quickly realized that my wordpress blog was defaulting to the the nofollow links.
I definitely edited my wordpress code to give my users some benefit from commenting on my blog.
I would suggest anyone do this that actually moderates their comments. If you do not, then you may be opening up the door for more and more spam comments.
