Easter in Eksingedalen|Påske i Eksingedalen

The obligatory skitrip with my brother in-law is always amazing, the views are breathtaking. I don’t have my iphone anymore to take pictures with so I brought the old N82.

I’m not in very good shape this days, so its extra giving to be able to still reach the top – showing its possible no matter how weared out your body is.

The area has hundreds of different courses you can choose, along a small workers road or mountain sides – my brother in law likes the ones that has a certain climbing of course.

Er kjempeglad for at han tar meg med. Det var kjipt å ikke ha mobilen min til å ta bilder med, den får jeg ikke liv i, men jeg tok med meg den gamle N82’en, den tar greie bilder. Carl Zeiss-optikk er tidløs. Utfordringen er at jeg ikke kan poste Instagram fra den! (Krise)

Jeg er i litt dårlig form og da er det ekstra stort å kunne stå der på toppen og se utover og tenke «det er mulig».

My parents view in Fyllingsdalen, I never get tired of it. The whole family gathered today for brunch with great food and company.

Jeg blir aldri lei utsikten til foreldrene mine, Løvstakken og Fyllingsdalen i vinterdrakt. Det var godt at vi endelig fikk litt snø. I dag hadde mamma og pappa invitert hele familien til 2.juledag-brunch med masse deilig mat.

View from my parents’ house|Utsikten til foreldrene mine

I’ve taken hundreds of photos of this view, during childhood and every time I visit them. The mountain is Løvstakken – one of our 7 mountains surrounding our city. The mountain in the left background is Rundemannen. I tried a HDR app this time to see how it worked – this is the result.

Below is one from 1931 (taken by E. Djupdratt), its fun to compare – notice the farm buildings on both photos:

Its also fun to see how the tree limit has climbed, the whole mountain is soon covered.

If you’re interested I took photos from the opposite side last year.

Legg merke til tregrensen, den har trukket seg godt opp i fjellet – morsomt å se. Løvås Gård er med på begge bildene også.

Det gamle bildet er fra Fyllingsdalen CD’en, men menyen der virker kun i Internet Explorer.

Cycling the The Navvies Road|Sykkeltur på Rallarvegen med idrettsskolen

Rallarvegen is the old construction road navvies used while building our railway in the 19th and early 20th centuries. We were 36 adults and children this time and decided to rent bikes instead of bringing our own. I think that is wise, when we rent them we know we are secured with good breaks and tires. It was an awesome trip, 53 wonderful kilometers!

Though it is mostly down hill my body still aches, its a bumpy ride and in some areas you have to be really careful and concentrated, some places there are no fences and the view down is breathtaking.

This one kind of reminded me from a scene in Half Life 2

Det var en helt fantastisk tur, ungdommen var utrolig flink – vi var 36 barn og voksne, alle kom i mål i Flåm med stil. Værgudene var med oss også, turen hadde nok ikke vært helt den samme om regnet pøset ned. Vi tok toget til Finse og hentet sykler vi hadde leid, så begynte turen. 53 nydelige kilometer ned til Flåm.

Selv om det stort sett bare er nedover bakke så kjenner jeg det godt i kroppen, tror ikke jeg hadde overlevd uten sykkelbukse. Neste gang skal jeg ha skikkelige hansker på, det ble mye bremsing nedover, prøvde mest mulig å bruke pedalbremsen men da ble det litt skrensing i de tøffeste svingene. Håper det ikke blir lenge til jeg kan prøve Rallarvegen igjen, det var en drømmetur.

A small trip to the Fløi mountain|En liten tur på fløien

Our little one walked a bit once in a while to stretch her leg. We looked forward to test our new storm kitchen as well.

On the way up it was misty, many tourists waited until it lifted I think before they went up the funicular.

Heres the new storm kitchen, it was awesome and the pancakes were done in a flash.

Vi så frem til å teste det nye stormkjøkkenet vårt, pannekakerøret hadde vi med på flaske.

Det var tett tåke på vei opp, det var nok mange turister som ventet med å ta turen opp til tåken lettet. Det var ikke mange oppe da vi var der. Men på vei ned igjen hadde tåken lettet litt og turistene hadde begynt å komme.

Her er det nye stormkjøkkenet vårt, det fungerte supert og pannekakene ble ferdig på 0 komma nix.

A quick walk on Lyderhorn|En rask tur på Lyderhorn

I love the view up there. Lyderhorn was a gathering location for witches on Midsummer night, Valborg night, and at Christmas.
