An autumn walk|En gåtur i høsten

We had a great time – she loves walking though the leaves and the sound it makes. I found out that I love it too – it is relaxing. I managed to snap some shots and yesterday I stitched them together..

We stopped here to study the nice wool-like clouds. Its a 5 minute walk from our home, well.. 20 if we count in the time my daughter stopped to check out some small rocks on the ground – I think she’ll become a rock collector.

This was originally a mill, then a wool-factory and later a herring oil factory. Today the buildings host a paint factory. Here is an air-shot of the buildings, taken in July 1960. The area is called Kverneviken. (Mill Creek)

There are still remaining channels from the river and into the building’s cellar here used for the mill. I never get tired exploring this area, I hope I can enter them once but I haven’t had the guts asking yet.

This is a river near us running through our area and end up at the factory buildings where the mill was. Hun elsker å løpe gjennom løvet, jeg fant ut at jeg også synes det er herlig. Lyden er ganske avslappende, spesielt når det er mye løv og det var det på turen vår. Vi gikk ned veien og inn til Kvernevik og den gamle fabrikken, eller maleriet som mange kaller det. Bygningene fascinerer meg så jeg benyttet sjansen til å ta litt bilder av dem.

Her stoppet vi opp for å studere skyene litt, var de ikke fine?

Opprinnelig var dette en mølle, deretter ullvarefabrikk og senere sildoljefabrikk. I dag er det malingfabrikk i bygningene. Her kan du se et flyfoto av Kverneviken tatt i juli 1960.

Det er fremdeles rester av kanalene inn til møllen og det er en masse detaljer her, jeg blir aldri lei av å studere området. Jeg håper det ikke forfaller helt og forsvinner.

Her er elven forbi Bekkjarvik og ned mot Kverneviken, litt moro med sammensying men jeg skulle nok ha tatt litt flere bilder for å fylle ut til et helt rektangel.

Nerd Monday – Stitching|Nerdemandag – Sammensying

Of some reason I’ve always thought stitching images was for horizontal stitching, not vertical and horizontal. The result was always long strips of panorama. 🙂 But by accident when I was experimenting with MS’ Ice I noticed that I could stitch together in the height too. That was fun and it has resulted in a new hobby; stitching! Now I’m going through every folder I can find to check if there is something to stitch. Heres a few examples what I’ve been experimenting with.

Don’t forget that I’ve taken these with my cellphone, and I’m not professional. But I’d love to hear your opinion on these.

I like how this one made the ground a bit more special than an ordinary image would give. I should of course taken a few more images so I could make a sqare but.. oh well.

I thought this one was funny, new and old worlds mixed together. In the background you can see an old Reeperbahn, a place where they made long ropes. We had 28 of these but now theres only 2 left. People burn them down and say it was an accident, to get the estate to build on.

This one was stitched with 8 photos I think, something weird happened in the upper left corner. 🙂

I think its a great way to train on taking photos, when I’m out walking I’m always looking for a photo opportunity, and how lighting is. Jeg har i det siste lekt meg litt med Microsoft sitt ICE program og oppdaget ved en tilfeldighet at man kan ta bilder oppover og sy dem sammen også! Kall meg gjerne treg men dette er jo fantastisk.. for en eh nerd. Så nå har jeg fått meg en ny hobby, sammensying av bilder!

Nå tråler jeg gjennom hver eneste bilde-katalog jeg kan finne for å se om det er noe jeg kan sy sammen – det er kjempemorro. Her er noen eksempler. Men husk på at jeg har tatt dem med mobiltelefonen min, og at jeg ikke er særlig profesjonell. 🙂

Jeg likte hvordan bakken ble påvirket av sammensyingen, det fikk ganske gøy dybde gjorde det ikke? Jeg burde ha tatt noen flere her slik at det ble en firkant men da jeg tok bildet så ante jeg ikke om mulighetene.

Jeg synes dette ble litt morsomt, 2 verdener møtes. I bakgrunnen er en gammel reperbane. Nå har vi bare 2 av dem igjen, vi hadde opprinnelig 28 i Bergen men de fleste er brent ned av folk som trengte tomten. (Bryggen neste?)

Grey day in Bergen.|Haukeland – Grå dag i Bergen men ikke inne.

View from Haukeland Hospital yesterday, a grey day outside but sunny inside – I mean, progress and hope. 🙂 I’ve taken many photos out these windows during the last years, I think I’ve cowered each side now. I’ve taken them in «secret» so the ones I visit doesn’t misunderstand the purpose of my presence.

Tatt ut vinduet fra Haukeland i går. Grått og trist ute men fremgang og håp inne. 🙂 På Haukeland er alt mulig.

Det har blitt en del bilder tatt ut vinduet fra sykehuset de siste årene, nå tror jeg at jeg har tatt fra alle sidene. Så nå trenger ingen å bli syke mere ok? Jeg har tatt dem i smug når jeg har besøkt forskjellige familiemedlemmer, de må jo ikke tro at jeg besøker dem bare fordi jeg vil ta bilder.

Bergen Center this morning, I couldn’t find the busstop, they moved it so I took some time taking this shot instead. They are building a cityrail here in Bergen and they change roads and buss-traffic all the time.

The mysterious circle|Den mystiske sirkel

This perfect 10 meter in diameter circle was noticeable already in the 80s, it is formed by a waterplant called Lobelia Dortmanna. The amateur botanic Jostein Andreassen eagerly says that this plant is common in these areas but hes never seen anything like this. In 2001 he swam out to it to investigate and saw that its shape is inflected by the formation at the bottom of the 5-10 meter deep lake. On the deepest areas the plant doesn’t reach the surface.

Noone can explain whats down there. Rumors says that a bomb from second world war was detonated there for safety reasons, that is the closest explanation I can find.

Location : Søgne in south-Norway, the lake is called Lindelitjønna

Hva er denne sirkelen? Jostein Andreassen svømte en gang bort til den for å undersøke men fant ikke noe spesielt, bortsett fra at det er formasjoner på bunnen som gjør at planten vokser på denne måten. Tjønnet er 5-10 meter dypt og det er ikke alle steder planten når overflaten.

Noen mener at det en gang ble detonert en bombe fra 2. verdenskrig der, men gjøres det slikt på 5-10 meter dyp?

Norwegian Wood|Tur gjennom skogen

I had some spare time not long ago while waiting for a ferry so I decided to check out an area I hadn’t visited for a long time, the fort at my enlisted division. Jeg hadde litt tid til overs for ikke så lenge siden mens jeg ventet på fergen til Austevoll så jeg bestemte meg for å utforske Visterøy. Jeg er/var rulleført på fortet der.
