    Kids love it though, over 15 of our lakes are measured to over 16cm so they are safe to skate on. Its fun to see all the kids after school on the ice. Its been very dry the last weeks so the ice is very clear, I’ll try to take some better shots tomorrow. 🙂

På Finse målte de -27,5! Over 15 vann rundtom i Bergen er trygge nå, det er utrolig kjekt å se ungene «populere» vannene. Det har vært så tørt i det siste så vannene har fått god gammel stål-is slik jeg husker fra barndommen. Nå fikk jeg lyst til å finne skøytene mine..

    I natt tror jeg det kommer til å bli enda kaldere.

Its wood looking like stained glass, made by Christopher Rini from New York. He didn’t want to reveal yet how he made it, I think its an awesome project and I hope he makes more of it. He said he could put a protective coating on it so it could be used outdoor as well. I’d love something like this on our front door.

Christopher Rini fra New York har laget dette i tre, et arbeid som har tatt flere måneder. Han ville vente litt med å si nøyaktig hvordan han gjorde det. Vi prøver å overbevise ham om at dette kan bli et populært produkt. 🙂 Han sier han kan legge et beskyttende lag slik at det kan henges utendørs også. Tenk å hatt dette på ytterdøra da!

    USA wins again… Why are they always trying to be better than us? 🙂

I talked a little with the artist, she told me it took a lot of hard work to shape the bread. She hoped though that it was eaten a bit faster. 🙂 I thought it was awesome:

Hun fortalte at det hadde vært veldig vanskelig å lage henne, den er av brød tvers gjennom og det var vanskelig å forme det. Hun sa også at hun hadde håpet på at den ble spist opp litt raskere. 🙂 Et kjempespennende innslag synes jeg:

    [lang_en]We have a weekend subscription on one of the local papers here but each Saturday and Sunday the door bell rings – a boy wants to sell two other newspapers. Its a common thing and we’ve gladly bought a paper or two. The boy pops up like a clockwork but sometimes another boy showed up. It made us a bit curious.

    One day we learned that the boy we buy papers from is not the owner of this route! He visit just us because we’re always buying from him! He makes sure to go out before the «real» one takes the route. The other boy that pops up once in a while is the real paperboy for this route.

    Now we’ve stopped buying from the fake one but we don’t have the guts telling him why.. We’re chickens. And we don’t want to call the newspaper sales department because we don’t want to give the kid any trouble..

    (irony)Oh the huge problems we have in this life… (/irony) [/lang_en][lang_nb-no]Vi har et helge-abonnement på BT men hver lørdag og søndag ringer dørklokken – en gutt vil selge BA og VG. Vi har hver gang kjøpt en av avisene. Gutten kommer så sikkert som solen kommer opp. Men av og til har en annen gutt ringt på. Det fikk oss til å lure litt.

    En dag lærte vi at gutten vi kjøper aviser av ikke har denne ruten! Han sykler langt for å selge kun til oss – fordi vi alltid kjøper av ham. Noe vi har sluttet med nå men vi tør ikke å si ifra hvorfor. Han har alltid passet på å komme før den «virkelige» avisgutten kommer. For en luring! Så nå blir det ingen aviser på oss, for den virkelige avisgutten har gitt området opp…

    Vi vil ikke ringe avisen heller, har ikke lyst å lage problemer for den lure gutten..

The exhaust pipe on my car broke and some friends recommended «Bilens Eksosanlegg Bergen AS» so I went there in my lunch today to see what they could do, I figured I had to buy a new one. This is how it went:

    11:45: Nice welcome and they asked me to drive into the garage

    11:47:The car on the lift:

    11:48: They tell me I have to change the back and middle part, for a fair price:

    11:50: I browse a science magazine in the waiting room

    11:58: They tap the window and tell me they’re done!

    Polite and effective people! Eksosanlegget på bilen røk og jeg fikk anbefalt et firma i Loddefjord. Bilens Eksosanlegg Bergen AS. Jeg dro dit i lunchen i dag for å se hva de kunne gjøre, jeg regnet med at jeg måtte ha nytt. Slik gikk det:

    11:45: Hyggelig velkomst og de bad meg kjøre inn i garagen

    11:47:Bilen på rampen

    11:48: Jeg får beskjed om at jeg må bytte bakre og mellomste del, helt grei pris.

    11:50: Jeg blar raskt gjennom Illustrert Vitenskap på venterommet.

    11:58: De dunker på vinduet til venterommet – bilen er ferdig!
